The Franklin Fire Company will be conducting a “STUFF A FIRETRUCK FOR THE SOLDIERS” event again this year. Even though last year’s project was a huge success, we are requesting your assistance with getting the word out to the public and coverage of the events. This year we moved the event up to coincide with the Veteran’s Day celebration so that we can ship the donated supplies to the soldiers by Christmas.
The Franklin Fire Company will be accepting items at the following locations and times:
Thursday, November 8th, 2012 from 6 pm till 10 pm, at the Food Lion Store, 875 Lincoln Way West, Chbg, at the Westside Shopping Plaza.
Saturday, November 10th, 2012 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Sunnyway Food Store, 49 Warmspring Road, Chambersburg.
Monday, November 12th, 2012 going through the Veterans’ Day Parade and concluding at our firehouse located at 158 West King Street immediately following the parade until 2:00 pm.
For a list of items being requested visit our website at www.sta4.com or see attached flyer. Financial donations are accepted as well to help cover shipping costs. Excess funds will be used to purchase additional items to ship.
We are requesting mailing addresses of soldiers deployed. These addresses can be dropped off at any of the above scheduled events or emailed to email@example.com or mailed to “Franklin Fire Co, %Ken North, 158 West King Street, Chambersburg. 17201.
Last year’s project was real successful and we would like to match it this year because soldiers often feel that they are forgotten and this is wonderful way for people to say thank you to them for protecting our freedom.
