CHAMBERSBURG – The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter and the American Cancer Society are teaming up for their second annual “Paws for a Cure” dog walk from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the future site of the animal shelter, 5051 W. Letterkenny Road.
Participants are asked to raise money for the walk by getting sponsors. Similar to the ACS Relay for Life, “Paws for a Cure” will include a loop-style walk around the grounds of the future Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, near Kenny Gardens.
Individuals may participate for a $5 registration fee or groups can walk for $20 registration.
Participants will also be able to take part in the Tribute Trail, to honor animals or people who meant something special to participants or who battled cancer. Tribute Trail signs are $5 each and will make the walk both poignant and special to those who take part in the event.
The event will also include food, entertainment and other vendors.
Proceeds will be split evenly between the two organizations
