The Berkeley County Democratic Association is hosting a ‘Get out the Vote’ Dinner at Martinsburg’s Holiday Inn on Thursday, October 25. Social hour will begin at 6:00 pm followed by dinner at 7:00.
Keynote speaker for this year’s event is Howard Swint, Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives’ Second District seat. Mr. Swint is from Charleston and is a real estate developer and well- known op-ed columnist who writes about a wide range of public policy issues. He is an outspoken advocate for campaign finance and lobbying reform and fiscal conservatism. He favors sensible tax reform as outlined in the Simpson Bowles Commission report. Mr. Swint accepts no donations from corporations or political action committees. He is an inspirational and dynamic speaker.
In addition to Howard Swint, other local and state Democratic candidates will speak. Three special items will be auctioned: an autographed copy of Hillary Clinton’s autobiography, Living History, that she inscribed specifically for this event, two tickets plus parking pass to the Redskins vs. Giants Monday night game on December 3, and five nights at a charming Chincoteague, Virginia cottage.
Tickets cost $35.00 per person and can be purchased online at www.berkeleydems.org, at Democratic Headquarters located at 115 South Queen Street, or from a BCDA officer or board member.
