TREATS 4 TROOPS! Local Orthodontist launches 8th Annual Halloween Candy Buy-Back joining forces this year with the National effort OPERATION GRATITUDE!
Gaithersburg and Hagerstown MD – Trick-O-Treat with a Treat-4-Troops!
One area orthodontist is encouraging his patients to “put his money where your mouth is.” This Halloween, trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy to Dr. Gordon S. Groisser, Village Orthodontics in Gaithersburg and Hagerstown and receive $1 per pound in exchange. Dr. Groisser began his efforts in 2005 and since that time has collected more than a ton (yes that is 2000 pounds) of candy! Each year Dr. Groisser’s collection has been sent to the Troops overseas along with toothpaste and toothbrushes and signed cards from well-wishing patients via the Red Cross. This, being the 8th year, Dr. Groisser is hoping to break his all-time record and is joining forces with Operation Gratitude – a national effort to support the men and women overseas.
“Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great preventative measures, but doing away with that sticky, chewy, sugary stuff will really help keep your smile healthy, reduce decay and keep your braces intact,” says Dr.G – the nickname his patients affectionately gave him. “Giving back a little taste of home tells our Troops we appreciate all they do for us.”
Candy will be collected at both of Dr. Groisser’s offices: Village Orthodontics on Thursday, November 1st and Friday, November 2nd in Hagerstown and Friday, November 2nd and Monday, November 5th in Gaithersburg. All days from 7:45am-5:00pm.
Candy must be wrapped and unopened. It will then be shipped to Operation Gratitude where they will then forward holiday care packages on to the Troops.
Dr. Gordon S. Groisser is an orthodontist serving the needs of children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Groisser is available to provide more information at 301-869-4242, or visit his website: www.DrGBraces.com.
