It's the 1960s and "pleasantly plump" Tracy Turnblad wants to make a name for herself on everybody's favorite dance show. When she starts taking dance tips from a young black dancer, however, she and everyone around her learn some unexpected lessons about segregation and racial tension.
"Hairspray" will be presented Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, Nov. 1,, 2, 3 and 8, 9 and 10 a 8 p.m. and Sundays, Nov. 4 and 11 at 3 p.m. in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of Potomac State College.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and are currently available at Linda's Hallmark in Keyser, Anderson's Corner in Romney, and M&T Bank in Fort Ashby, or by calling the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce at 304-788-2513.
