Vesta, the Roman Goddess of fire, is an appropriate name for the sparkling new restaurant that grew out of the ashes of a devastating fire. Asaro’s had been Boonsboro’s pizza source for 25 years before a fire swept through the building housing the restaurant in the early hours of January 19, 2007.
The larger space in the US Hotel building gave them the ability to expand their rebuilding plans and bring delicious Italian food back to their loyal patrons in a bright, airy new location. The pre-Civil War building needed some updating and renovation, but the spot was perfect for their vision of a restaurant catering to food lovers of all ages and sizes.
The new space takes up the entire main floor of the building including a party room which can hold up to 25 people for private celebrations. There is also an outdoor dining area, a patron favorite in warmer weather.
The menu features pizza from the traditional cheese in three different sizes to The Warrior (Pepperoni, bacon, sausage, ham, meatball with extra cheese) to The Maryland Crab(a NY Style pizza with Old Bay Seasoning and lumps of Maryland crabmeat). The menu also includes salads, crowd favorites like wings, dipping bread and cheese fries. The traditional Italian dishes include spaghetti, ravioli, Fettucini Alfredo, chicken and eggplant parmesan and stuffed manicotti. A variety of subs and wraps rounds out the menu.
Vesta is located at 2 South Main Street, Boonsboro, MD 21713. Phone (301) 432-6166.
