What kind of explorer are you?
Are you a hiker. . .a biker. . .a skier. . .a kayaker? Or, maybe a golfer. . .a skydiver. . .a birdwatcher. . .a fisherman? Are you a photographer?
Or, are you just an explorer who likes to poke around here and go around this bend to see where the trail leads.
Franklin County’s for you! We have great valleys and streams, great trails and mountains, great vistas and sunsets.
Enjoy historic theatres like the Capitol in Chambersburg or the Star in Mercersburg. Take in summer stock at Totem Pole Playhouse in Fayetteville, or a performance at the new Luhrs Center in Shippensburg. It all adds up to great theatre.
Explore Franklin County’s history. Glimpse frontier sites and stops on the Underground Railroad. Experience the intensity of the Civil War. Take one of the driving or walking tours or see the history at places like Allison Antrim Museum in Greencastle, Chambersburg Heritage Center in Chambersburg, Conococheague Institute in Mercersburg, or Renfrew Museum in Waynesboro. AND, if you simply want to r-e-l-a-x, it is a great place to do nothing. . .to have no itinerary. . .to just wander at your own pace.
Great Outdoors! Great history! Great entertainment! Great relaxation!
