Your end-of-life expert…
Hospice of Washington County is not only for cancer patients. An individual with any type of disease, acute or chronic may be eligible for hospice services. We serve individuals with lung, heart, liver, kidney, AIDS, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, stroke and many other diseases that are considered chronic or debilitating.
Compassionately Serving Our Community…
We help with more than just the physical. Social workers provide emotional support and counseling in regard to end of life issues including anticipatory grief, perceptions of the illness, and goals of the patient and caregivers.
Hospice is different from home health…
You don’t have to be homebound as you do with home health services, nor does there need to be a skilled condition. Our team of compassionate professionals achieve excellence by anticipating and providing responsive medical, emotional and spiritual support to the individual and family/friends support system.
Services available to ALL regardless of ability to pay….
We are a non-profit organization here for the local community. Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance do usually cover most patient costs. A doctor’s authorization is required to begin receiving HWC services; grief and education services are available to all with no referral required. 24 Hour Emergency Support Service
Dedicated Volunteers and Donations…..
Companion, Bereavement, Special Service, Project and Office volunteers are an integral part of our services. Caring, emotionally mature persons are encouraged to become a volunteer.
Donations are always welcome to our outstanding organization that cares for our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! The 30th Anniversary “Mortgage Burning Campaign” still needs gifts of all sizes. Every dollar will help us to “burn the mortgage” and assist more individuals and families through expanded and enhanced programs and services.
